CPP disability lump sum payment for 2007, 2008 and 2009 went directly to my insurance company. I was forced to sign the money over, without any information about how this lump sum would impact my income tax. There has been a review of these practices by the Office of the Commissioner of Review Tribunals and the recommendations they make are that disabled people should not be forced to sign over this money by insurance companies and should have informed consent. There is supposed to be a moratorium on these payments being taxed by Revenue Canada - I spoke to three people there yesterday and not one of them had a clue about this situation. Meanwhile, I have lost my pharmacare benefits and pay over $600 per month for medication and I am have also lost my BC medical subsidy due to my income being so high in 2009 (it shows that I made over 30,000 due to the lump sum being added to my income - even though over 19 thousand went to the insurance company | |||||||
